Last nickel in the jar today. Looks to have some some marking between the L and I in the word Liberty. I have tried to look for information in regards to this but nothing. Would this be considered PMD? Thank you for your time and knowledge.

to the CCF. Looks like the top vertical portion of the L took a bit hit and displaced some metal. PMD

May I ask why the L the I and the B are so close together? Would it be from multiple hits mashing those letters together? Thank you for your time and knowledge.

It is just the way it was designed that year. Check ebay for photos to compare your coin to and you will see they all look like that,normal.

The metal could have peeled on the inside of the rim. It is not laying the surface between those two devices. Take a second look. It is just damage post strike.
