Hi so I have an arizona quarter with multiple die cracks front & back. Plus the lettering in banner shows doubling. Its kinda cool and the color is more yellow. normal weight. It is from my grams collection, so it's been in a 2x2 since 2008.

I had to order a new microscope- so yes the only way to take pictures right now is to do a screenshot. I know how annoying it is for some of you- so wanted to let you know up front. its the best I can do at the moment.

Well it looks like some small die chips under the mouth. On the reverse, maybe a gouge on the die Above the Q and through the U. Not sure what happened to the 'Grand' on the ribbon though.

@dearborn yes the whole back all has a weird texture but especially words in the banner. The texture is under most of the lettering (except banner). Here are a couple more pictures of the reverse. Thank you!!

Where exactly are you seeing a DDR? Perhaps better closeups are needed.

Those look like MD - on incuse devices MD appears wider. On raised devices - they would look thinner. (yours on the banner look wider)

Note on the 'G' image: Looks like a medium bounce on Machine Doubling on the tops of the devices on these incuse areas on the ribbon. DDD on the fields. Machine Doubling on these incuse devices enlarges the devices. Now do I know these are incuse devices on the ribbon? Not the tops of the devices are not reflecting, the bottoms of the devices are showing the reflection. Then notice the tops of the EPU, the refelection is on the tops of these devices, because they are raised. (Grand Canyon State devices are incuse) Never noticed this before on this design. If it were hub doubling, then the devices would have been smaller in size:

The same as the incuse devices on the Shield cents. MD enlarges, Die doubling will be reduced in size.

CoopHome: Why are incuse devices enlarged on Machine Doubling? Machine Doubling enlarges the devices on incuse devices, die doubling will be seen as a reduction in size on these devices. just the opposite on raised devices.

@coop oh ok that makes sense- I had that reversed- I thought Machine Doubling made it smaller. This is really helpful thank you!

I agree, Machine Doubling. Keep searchingly!
