I can't believe I just found a new DDR on this dime. Had I not went to the Wexler site to see what DDR's were out there and what they looked like, I would have never found it. John Wexler has labeled it as A 2014-P WWDR-011

Congratulations on the discovery.

I must say that is a teeny variety to notice. You variety hunters must have 20/10 eyesight and limitless patience.

Yes it is. But with a good microscope and a big computer monitor, Nothing goes unnoticed. I must stress that when looking for a DDR or DDO it pays to take a look at what has already been confirmed. I never gave that spot a second look until I knew what to look for. I found this within a month after I started looking.

I don't see any doubling. it's not a DD if you have to look at it under a loop. Great example is the 1955 DD that is a true DD. This coin just shifted a little when it was stamped the second time

You know ... I might agree with that except that John Wexler did confirm it. He has not posted the picture yet but I'm sure he will soon. I have his letter which is all I need. A double die is not always cut and dry which is why we depend on the experts to confirm or deny a double die.

Colton, that might be your description, but not the hobby's description. By your description we would have to throw back 99% of the DDs we find. And no it didn't "shift a little". Also, the only coin that is "stamped" twice are proof coins.

That's a nice DDR. Might cost you a couple bucks more than the coin would be worth in the end but think about sending it to ANACS since they will put "Discovery Piece" on the slab. You have to pay the variety fee, and tell them what you want on the slab plus send along a copy of the letter from Wexler, but I find that preserving such coins is worthwhile.

John Wexler also mention that as well. I'm sure I'll do that, just so I can say I have a certified coin. This was a lot of fun.
