So I have this 2018 p dime that seems to be smooth in center one both sides of it can anyone tell me anything about why it would look this way

Someone put BBQ hot plate on face ,no could be a number of things someone will analyse it soon.

@law, first welcome to CCF. Second, the most obvious explanation for that flat spot is damage, but I agree that it could be helpful to see a pic of the reverse. Thx.

That is the highest point on the dime, it looks like it was rubbed or sanded down to the level of the rims.
