I recently received 2 1972 Gold colored Ike dollars Would they be one of the aftermarket items put out by places like hsn? Is there any way to determine if they are gold plated or just colored without destroying the coin?

I own 3 "gold plated" Ike's. One is plain while the other 2 are counterstamped with WWII anniversary dates

The US Mint never issued gold or gold-plated Eisenhower dollars.

Cupro-Nickel can acquire a golden tone, or these were plated post-mint.
