Could someone please explain the term WAM?

I have been reading a lot about WAM's individuals are searching for amongst the many Lincolns in circulation.

My assumption would be " Wide AM"? So should I be searching for a wider AM on the reverse of the coin in AMERICA?

Thanks.

What years should I be looking for?

1998,1999,2000. I believe there is a 1996 Wide AM as well.

Thanks for your help. I'll start making piles of each date.

Any specific mint marks or are there P & D WAM's?

Most comprehensive explanation and list of confirmed WAM's I've seen before is the page at Lincoln Cent resource....here:

Considering that a 1996 just popped up, and it is conceivable that other years might have the same situation, you might want to do what I do: check the reverse of EVERY Philadelphia cent from 1993 on. Very time consuming, but consider all of the fanfare that will surround you if you are the first to discover a 2001 WAM, or something like that. Worth the effort to me!
