I'll be nice since I'm a new user, but I'm REALLY mad at the Mint... I had a subscription too, for 5 Silver Eagles, and they did a charge on 2/28/23 for the $400 subscription. I check a day later and the order said processing... not hearing anything further, on Wed. 3/8, I check again and it still said processing... The following morning, Thursday 3/9, I get the dreaded email that some others have gotten:
Order Update Dear Mint Customer: Thank you again for your 2023 American Eagle Silver Proof Coin purchase. We wanted to confirm the expected ship date for this product. We are working hard to fulfill your order, but are experiencing delays due to a technical issue with our payment processor. We expect to ship your order by March 29. You will receive a shipping confirmation email once your order has been shipped. Your order has not been cancelled, and no action is required from you at this time. We apologize for the delay..... ya-da ya-da ya-da.....
Thank you? How condescending! A 4 week delay in shipping for a subscription order when they have a valid CC on file! Wow! And they pinged my Credit Card, so what could be the issue with their payment processor? There is something more going on here. Thankfully I wasnt looking for any First Strike grading! Hah! And I too, no longer have a charge on my CC.

Mine finally did come the other day. I only ordered one so I guess that was easy for them. Last year nothing came and when I finally realized and called them about it, it was too late, and they said it was a credit card issue. I made sure all my CCs are up to date this year so I hope they can't use that one against me again!

Interesting...the congratulations set 2023 is back with add to bag and data-available shows 11485 so I guess they didnt put them all on first day if you still want one. They did that also with the American Liberty 2022 Silver Medal I had bought last year I noticed also and some others (holding back some of the mintage beyond the first day). This is the same coin but with enhanced packaging for $2 more and the product limit is 40,000 on the packaging of the congratulations set edition. If you want it graded with the label you have to send in mint packaging sealed (so you cant replace the coin with a better one first since its the same coin ) https://catalog.usmint.gov/congratu...uct-schedule It shows 44062 available for just the coin so the delay is not likely to be from an inventory issue and so its whatever the tech issue is with the payment processor which must be big to delay shipments for up to 3 weeks. Hopefully that wont cause issues with those seeking the special labels that have a time limit to send in. And another reason not to pre sale on ebay us mint items I guess.

I'm not convinced it's a payment processor issue. How did they ship and bill my US Army Medal? Unless they have a different processor for ASE versus Medals, which I highly doubt. My 2 ASE's are scheduled to arrive Monday.

Just received mine in the mail. Cheap packaging (Miss the clamshell box), but I appreciate the redesigned sleeve. Coins are beautiful as always.

My theory is that their payment database got corrupted after the initial ping charges occurred, and now the database has to be restored so that they can perform the real charge and ship them out. This is just a complete guess.
I had two separate subscriptions (one for 5 and one singlet) and so that's why I received one but then got an email for the 5. I had meant to consolidate into one subscription but now I'm glad I didn't, as at least I got one.
My only complaint is that if it is a systems issue, then as an IT guy myself how can it take weeks to restore a database? That's ridiculous. If it were a silver planchet supply issue then just come out with it already, Ventris!

@datadragon, it's funny you mention the Congratulations Set. Quote: Interesting...the congratulations set 2023 is back I bought the 2013 one for my daughter in 2013 for $40 or whatever it was back then, and she immediately put it in a drawer in her room and it sat there for years (she moved out but it was still there). A few years later I noticed that 2013 Congratulations sets were going for $500+ on ebay! Apparently it had to do with them switching the ASE mint to San Francisco so collectors thought there would be no more "W" ASEs or something along those lines. I grabbed that thing out of her desk faster than you can say "Collector Schmollector" and I was suddenly $500 richer! I still don't think she knows to this day!

Thanks for the story @Cointree, you have 24 hours to edit it before its enshrined in history FOREVER... Just 18,347 out of a maximum mintage of 50,000 sets were sold in the first year of issue (2013) of the Congratulations Set for 64.95 - $2 over the cost of the coin alone like now. NGC also requires these sets to be sealed as they were from the U.S. Mint in order to qualify for labeling them and, as of 1/12/2022, the population of this coin in perfect PF70 Ultra Cameo condition is just 166. A PCGS graded pr70dcam sold for $1,673.23 last year. So in a few cases like this having special labels by having kept things sealed and then sent for grading would have greatly paid off, who knew. its 40,000 for 2023. https://www.greatcollections.com/Co...roof-70-DCAMhttps://mintnewsblog.com/2013-us-mi...s-coin-sets/

ChicagoCoinGuy - I think you are onto something... except they cant restore the database (I'm in IT also). How Long Do Pending Authorizations Take? A credit card authorization can last between 1-30 days, depending on the type of merchant and whether they remove the hold before it expires. So your supposition is probably correct. They dinged everybody's card, trashed the file with the Preauth's, and now they are waiting 30 days (from 2/28) for the "holds" to expire ; although it doesn't explain why my preauth appears to be gone, and I dont know how you got 1 of your 2 Subscriptions. Assume you have 2 accts, as it didnt look like you can have multiple subscripts. for the same item. Could it be by fullfillment center? I'm in NY. Very annoyed that I could logon to the Mint now, order 5 of the ASE's, also order 5 in Congrats holders, and they would ship in 1-2 weeks (or sooner if I am willing to pay). But I can't get my subscription shipped for 3 more weeks. Argh.
