What is your opinion on the grade of this 1925 S Buffalo based just on the reverse image? Would you consider it a better than average strike for the date?

Based solely on the reverse; better than average strike and die state for the date . XF45.

But why not post the obverse?

Hmm, interesting... Was also thinking an XF-45 best, but the obverse perhaps has a hugly weak strike appearing only a F-15 to VFish... The date could also be half gone but not necessarily from wear.

These teens/twenties Buffalo nickels are notorious for weak strikes especially the 1926-D and a few other issues in this series.

XF-40; but like everyone else has said, an obverse photo is necessary to best analyze the coin.

The reverse is an EF-45.

I'm going with XF40 and i'd bet if it was slabbed they would call it a VF30 coin.
