I found an 88 D Wide AM it ain't super pretty I guess but even ugly Lincolns need love too!

Yes, a WAM is normal for the 1988 cent.

And the rims are tall and wide for a reason, To protect the interior design elements from excessive wear when they are slid around on flat surfaces like a table or check-out counter. Of course the rim will not protect from handling with fingers though.

What is you see on this coin?
Aren't all '88s Wide AM.?
I don't see any reason to keep this coin.
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...

I think the op is asking about the 88 with 89 reverse. Need to see a close in focus pic of the FG. I don't think it is but I'll wait for better pics. For some reason WAM and CAM has been connected with this wrong reverse, and shouldn't be.
