I've posted various updates on this collection in the past. Quite a long time ago I decided to figure out 60 notable historical figures and create a collection of coins of, or representing those figures. Seen here: http://www.coincommunity.org/galler...e=1&sotmp=noThis 1st Century B.C. Arverni coin to represent Vercingetorix completes this endeavor. Vercingetorix (52 - 46 B.C.) AR Drachm Struck: 1st Century B.C. Mint: Size: 13mm Weight: 1.56g Die Axis: ~0 deg° Grade: XF Ref: Delestree:3389 Obv: Head left. Rev: Horse prancing left.

Nice to see pre roman coins being appreciated. This one must be rare? And shows some wear. So the romans have let it be used after defeating Vercingetorix!

That is a pretty impressive gallery @mart and a nice coin to end with. Well done!

Thanks guys.
John1, next is to complete my Roman Imperial Collection. I only need Valentinian III, Gordian II, Didius Julianis and Contstantius III.
Constantius III is probably not going to happen at least for a while and I just lost a bid on both Gordian II and Julianus. I am just waiting on the right Solidus of Valentinian III.

Quote: "Quite a long time ago I decided to figure out 60 notable historical figures and create a collection of coins of, or representing those figures." That's a great topic! Once a collector decides he does not have to play the "I need slabs in MS66" game, there are so many neat collecting goals to invent and work on. However, I hope his does not mean you are done with collecting. Time for another goal!

Nicely done - that is an impressive array of historical figures. Collecting coins that depict notable historic events is an idea I've kicked around.
