That '97 is a real looker!  Here is an 1897-O VAM 6a with the reverse die break.   An 1897-S VAM 8, PCGS OGH MS 63. Not great photos.  An 1897-S VAM 4, raw AU. I think the coin was probably wiped or lightly cleaned at some point.

Found a roll of 1898-O Morgan dollars in my hoard. Pulled a couple off the top for pics, otherwise it's been sealed for 50 years.   
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures
