When I was in the hospital for blood clots a few years ago, they put me on the cardiac floor. I asked them if I could get some salt and pepper for the scrambled eggs. The nurse got a laugh and said that one's probably not gonna happen. They did give me a salt substitute which consisted of ground up railroad cinders, coal dust and sand.
