Hello everyone--I haven't been on the forum in a while (or in the coin market in any capacity). I hope to be able to come back soon :). What do you guys think this should grade? And do you see it as a high quality example for a type coin?

Thanks!

Giving me penny envy. It is tough to distinguish between muddy planchets, soft strikes and plain old wear, but there's enough hair detail missing that I would put it at XF40 or XF45, despite that gorgeous color..

A shiny green bean on the slab wouldn't surprise me at all. Beautiful specimen.

Agree, EF-40 or 45, drop-dead for the grade.

I'd grade that 'head of 94' a solid XF40.
Is that a die crack between the 1 and 7?

I would grade her XF45 and very pretty.

If I may, here this my example of the same variety, Sheldon-28, which in my opinion is one of the most aesthetically pleasing 94"s.

Thanks everyone! There is still more time to guess is anyone else wants to. I will give it another day yet before I post what PCGS actually called it. I did ultimately go for this, as it remains one of the nicest 1794 cents I have ever seen (especially given how many of the nice ones are astronomically expensive and beyond my price range). I love the strike and the sharpness of the hair, despite there being a little wear. Part of that trade was an 1802 cent I posted here a while ago--I broke even on it, which is cool. Now I am missing the Draped Bust cent, but I am willing to downgrade to a nice EF(45) and would prefer 1803 over 1802 anyway.

@GERMANICVS: Thanks for sharing yours too! I've been told by several people in the last two days that the Sheldon 28 is among the most beautiful ones, and a great variety to get if you prioritize quality of strike and fine hair detail.

Good looking coin but to me it has the look of a cleaned and recolored coin. Just my opinion, take no offense please.

Not a cent guy here, but comparing the details between GERMANICVS and Adam590, I would grade Adam coin AU-50.
