Great Collections is auctioning off a vintage black holder fatty holder of a fairly common coin, a 1922 Peace dollar in MS64 also CAC with a Green Bean sticker. Where do you think this will end up at price wise? This is obviously a buy the holder not the coin deal. https://www.greatcollections.com/Co...Holder-TonedI'm thinking around $425.00 Current FMV is around $75.00 "Buy the Book Before You Buy the Coin" - Aaron R. We'll see. I suppose some folks have an interest in these vintage slabs.
Take a look at my other hobby ... http://www.jk-dk.art

I'll guess $1500. Buy the plastic, not the coin?

Looks like an easy-to-fake slab.

It'll be interesting to see. I've been seeing more auctions on Heritage, GC and others featuring coins in old slabs, and sometimes the prices get a bit crazy. In the past couple years I've auctioned off several coins I've upgraded which were in PCGS rattlers or early NGC holders, and I've always been very pleased with how well they've done. I can understand the interest in the old holders, especially some of the ones which were only used for a short time, but that's not for me. I'm a coin collector, not a holder collector...

I was going to say somewhere in excess of $2000 but its already blown by that. I dont get the point of buying a plastic case for this much.. But the first PCGS sold for like $40,000 so there are some crazy people
I've been collecting for a couple years... Favorite Coin's are Standing Liberty quarters, Working on my type set | Coffee, Corvettes, Coins & the CCF what could be better?

Wow I guess I misplaced the decimal point on my guess, yeah that's the ticket. 10 times what I thought it might be worth already and still a week and a half to go?

I have an 1974-S Ike graded ms66 in a slab that says it's a 1976. How much do you think that plastic is worth?

That would be known as a mechanical error and nothing above the value of the coin. Some are inclined to think they are worth a ton of money, I've never seen one bring anything extra for it.
