Good one, Hondo! Posted in another thread, here's another 'one-year-only' French coin - the 1965 half-franc with small lettering on the obverse: The 'REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE' on the obverse was very faint on the original dies, and for future issues the lettering was enlarged and made much bolder.

Nice one, Keith! Queen Anne came to the British throne in 1702, and there was no immediate need for copper coinage as large quantities of farthings and halfpennies had been struck for William III, the previous monarch. But by 1713 more farthings were required, and a number of patterns with different designs were produced. Finally in 1714 the Mint decided to issue farthings bearing the portrait of Queen Anne on the obverse and Britannia on the reverse: Queen Anne died on August 1, 1714, and The Royal Mint ceased minting coins with her portrait. Some catalogs list the Queen Anne farthing as a pattern, others state "Probably not officially circulated". But the fact that quite a few 1714 farthings exist in VG and Fine condition seems to indicate that some entered circulation. Maybe Mint employees were given them as souvenirs and spent them. In the early 19th century a rumour spread that Queen Anne farthings were exceedingly rare and valuable, and specimens exchanged hands for several hundred pounds before the excitement died down. By the mid-Victorian period even an Uncirculated 1714 farthing was worth only about a guinea (£1.05), and even today they are worth less than some sold for 200 years ago. Maybe this was the first example of mass hysteria about a coin, predating the ebay era which has seen Brits list common 2p pieces for thousands of pounds because they have the 'New Pence' reverse, or Americans assume that any 1975 dime without a mintmark is the rare Proof 'No S' coin!
