Anyone who collects and purchases from the U S Mints knows, Gilly, Nothing Lately is Simple....

Well certainly utilizing a disinterested family member or friend would be simple enough. For me it was maybe just deciding who to ask and to get them interested in helping. Using their card, etc. Other than getting the details down so they know where to go online and making sure they understand the process (waiting room, etc) is worked just fine. She'd never ordered from the Mint, so I knew she'd have to pay shipping, just things you need to accept and find a willing partner in crime.

I tried to get my father-in-law to help me along those lines back in 2019 with the S ERP. LOL, what a disaster -- *I* was barely able to get mine. Can you imagine a senior citizen trying to deal with that horrid ordering process when they're not familiar with it and even worse, not in the same room with you to help them? Needless to say, it was a futile effort. Got my shipping notice just now for the Congrats set. But now that I think about it, it's a little bittersweet. My ASE purchases are likely coming to a close after the 2026 offerings. I just need the 2025 Eagle Privy bullion, the 2026 bullion, and the 2026 W EU.

Ugh, I know exactly what that's like. Trying to help my dad with computer-related issues is already like pulling teeth, and he was an IT administrator. I was lucky with the 2019-S ERP... I utilized several friends'/family's addresses, I just did the ordering "for them." I was shut out of the initial sale because of the slow website but was able to score 5 at the 7:30am release the next morning. I'll never forget anxiously sitting there waiting to see if the order went through or if I have to start all over again. I got them all graded which came back 2x PF70, 2x PF69 and one of the few PF68s that exist (lol).

Wow, @TIP, that's a heck of a tale! So let me guess.. your dad was reel-to-reel storage? ARCNET? Novel 4.0? Amazing that you were able to score 5 2019-S ERP naturally. My one is still in the sealed mint shipping box. I just haven't been able to bring myself to spring it and put it in my CAPS album. Not sure why. I don't THINK I have a plan to spend the 250 to have it graded.

I too am happy. I only have two more rare ones to acquire (to quote jbuck recently, IFYKYK), then it's just grinding old ones back to '86 at silver spot. I keep saying it and I'm mostly serious... I'm done with direct-purchase ASEs after this year. Of course it will depend on any marketing malarky the Mint pulls for 2027.

Haha actually yea I think that's what he started with in the early 90s. He retired in 2014 so by then it was a lot of email administration. But yea there was one night an upgrade went very wrong so he had to restore everything from a tape backup (fun fact: the file extension tar comes from Tape ARchive). Quote:

You should get it graded! I use NGC and I'm pretty sure it doesn't cost 250 to grade. You could just get a 1 year membership for $150 with a $150 grading stipend and get a couple graded at the same time (IIRC getting 6 coins graded at the modern coin tier + some labels at the same time was almost exactly 150).

Quote: You should get it graded! Agreed, and I'm not a graded coin guy, but if I had one of these sealed? You bet. Need to get the COA slabbed also, associated with the serial number. What if you have A. a 70 B. a signed COA like the first 100(?) were. Could be a gold mine. C. Both I'd do it, I wouldn't open that box. Did I mention I'm not even a graded coin guy?

Thank you, Mike. I got one from the original release and decided to get this one because of the low mintage.
