1862 Indian Head Cent Obcerse Die Cap PCGS MS-67, Simpson Collection

CCFPress Press Manager United States 1420 Posts	Posted 12/20/2025 08:43 am PCGS - Collectors know the 1862 Indian cent as a common, well-struck issue, but this one features an obverse die cap error. It happens when a blank planchet gets stuck to the die and is struck repeatedly, eventually doming around the die and creating the cap, splitting into a fan shape.
