Hello everyone,

I would appreciate some help identifying this gold coin/medal.

The piece shows Karl IV (Charles IV, Holy Roman Emperor) with the inscription "Karl IV Römisch-Deutscher Kaiser 1346-1378."
The reverse features an imperial coat of arms with the inscription "Heiliges Römisches Reich."

At the bottom edge there is a marking "585", which suggests 14K gold, along with a small additional symbol that may indicate the mint or manufacturer.

I am trying to determine:

which mint or private mint produced this piece,

the approximate year or period of striking,

and whether this is an official commemorative issue or a modern collector's restrike/medal.

Any insights or comparable examples would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your help!

@zem, first welcome to CCF. Second, while I see some a silver version of this medal online (see below link), I can't find a corresponding gold one. I think that a key to getting more information about this piece will be the hallmarks which are opposite 585. Any chance that you can provide a good close-up image of both of them? Thx.

I found the listing for the silver version on Numista:

The first of the marks to which Spence refers appears to be the mint mark of Bayerisches Münzkontor.
Knowing the weight and diameter would be helpful.

Thank you for your welcome and for your help.

I am adding more detailed photographs of the hallmarks as requested.

The weight of the medal is 3.11 g, the diameter is 20 mm, and the thickness is approximately 1 mm.

Hopefully these close-ups of the marks opposite the 585 hallmark will help with proper identification.

Thank you in advance for any further information or opinions.

Good call on the Hallmark @hon. Here is the numista page showing that spiked letter G:

Interestingly, we had a previous CCF thread with the same mintmark, but weren't able to figure it out back then:
