1907 Jamestown Exposition - Official Medal On the medal's obverse is a left-facing portrait of Pocahontas who is shown wearing a headband with multiple feathers. The medal's reverse depicts two sailing ships, one in the foreground, one in the background. The ships are call-backs to the ships that brought settlers to Jamestown. The medal was the work of George Morgan, with an assist by Charles Barber. For more on the Expositiohn and the Official Medal, see: - 1907 Jamestown Exposition

2007 Thayendanegea (Joseph Brant) Silver Dollar Here's a commemorative non-circulating legal tender (NCLT) silver dollar from Canada, with colored enamel enhancements. Thayendanegea is depicted on the coin's reverse (QE II's portrait is on the obverse) wearing a feathered headdress. Thayendanegea was a strong advocate for the rights of Canada's First Nations people and their territorial sovereignty, The inspirational leader sided with the British against the US during the American Revolution. I'm generally not a fan of embellished coins, but I have to admit that I like the look of this one - I think the colored translucent enamel is a true enhancement of the coin's aesthetics. For more on the coin, see: - 2007 Enameled Thayendanegea Silver Dollar

2013 Seven Years War - 250th Anniversary of End Another non-circulating legal tender (NCLT) commemorative silver dollar from Canada, this one marking the 250th Anniversary of the end of the Seven Years War. Its reverse presents a First Nations male depicted wearing a headband with feathers. The Seven Years' War (generally referred to as the French and Indian War in the US) was a global conflict that pitted Great Britain, the British colonies in America and elsewhere, international allies in Asia and Latin America along with their Native American allies against the French, French colonies and their international allies in Asia and Latin America along with their First Nations/Native American allies. The war began in 1756 and extended into 1763.

1898 Trans-Mississippi Exposition Official Medal The 1898 Trans-Mississippi Exposition was held in Omaha, Nebraska from June 1 to November 1, 1898. The US Treasury Department had an exhibit in the US Government Building in which it struck the medals on a traveling US Mint press. Though very small, the medal's feathers are found on its reverse - the Native American spearing a bison is wearing a headband with feathers. For more on the medal and Exposition, see: - 1898 Trans-Mississippi Exposition Commemorative

The US Native American $1 series features a number of "feather coins" - any collectors of these coins willing to post images?

Another from the modern US commemorative series... 2020 Mayflower 400th Anniversary Gold $10 (Image Credit US Mint, Media Image.) I haven't yet purchased one of these gold coins - does anyone have actual images of their coin? Chris Costello, a member of the US Mint's Artistic Infusion Program, designed both sides of the coin. The obverse was sculpted by US Mint Medallic Artist Phebe Hemphill; the reverse was sculpted by US Mint Medallic Artist Chris Menna. The feathers are found on the male Native American on the obverse.

If we're going to include coins with images of Winged Liberty... 1901-02 South Carolina Interstate and West Indian Exposition The South Carolina Inter-State and West Indian Exposition (sometimes referred to as the Charleston Exposition) was held in Charleston, SC from December 1, 1901 through June 20, 1902. The US Mint struck a medal for the Exposition. On the medal's obverse is depicted a winged, allegorical female figure with arms and wings outstretched. The background depicts a harbor scene (Charleston) with a freight train steaming forward at left (viewer's perspective) and a farm/agricultural scene at right. Within the agricultural scene is presented a Palmetto tree, the State Tree of South Carolina. The reverse of the medal is dominated by the inscription "SOUTH / CAROLINA / INTERSTATE and / WEST INDIAN / EXPOSITION / 1901-1902 / CHARLESTON / S.C. To the right of the inscription is presented a wheat stalk, a corn stalk, flowers, tobacco leaves and leaves from a painted buckeye shrub (above the tobacco).
