There was a short feature on the coins on the BBC television news at 8am this morning, and the reporter said the coins should enter circulation around the end of this month.

Yes Sap. I agree. The chopped up coat of arms was a bit naff, though they did more or less address the problem of acres of empty space on the reverses. And I hope striking quality will have improved. The old-style decimal coins were more deeply struck than the chopped up coat of arms ones. The relief on the heads side was much better too. We shall see...
