John, hope the healing process goes quick and easy.
That is a very large aloe planting.
What is the trap for?

Just catching up here, too, @Dearborn. So glad you're doing okay and that it wasn't worse. Hey, you need to find a better way to crack those slabs!

The trap is to catch the numerous stray cats that wander all over the place and fight loudly at night. I bring them to the humaine society after I get one. If it has a collar I bring it home to the owner with a warning that next time it goes to the society where they can go pay to get it back.

I was soldering a copper water line. Making a repair on my plumbing pipe in the bathroom. Well the propane tank blew a gasket and caught fire. I got burned from my ankles to my neck.

So... I'm away and busy in RL and leave you alone for just a little bit and you go and blow yourself up. One more and we're getting you Life Alert..."I've fallen and I can't get up" https://www.lifealert.com/

Well, an update one week later - the burns got a lot worse looking then the images above before they started healing. (no, I won't post the new images)
I currently have no hair on my legs now LOL - I hope it will come back. But the shin now has the texture of an alligator from my ankles up to my buttocks. We'll have to wait and see how that heals as time rolls along.

Looks like we need a new emoji on the forum now thanks to dearborn.... holy moly. Get well soon, hopefully everyone likes laminations as much as on coins. Honey significantly improves the healing rate of wounds in animals. It also says that it reduced scar formation and inhibited bacterial growth in acute wounds and burns. Maybe the good raw or manuka honey not the cheapo stuff. Never needed more than aloe vera for more minor 1st/2nd degree burns.

Well the aloe helped out fantastically, mostly healed now 2 weeks later. I'm now pealing like I spent the entire summer out in the sun (itches like heck) There will be some scaring (battle wounds, I call them now).

But thanks Data (David - Dah-Veed)

Good to hear Dearborn.

I have heard of "medical honey" used to treat large areas of skin damage. I'm glad to hear others have heard of it a well.

If you think about it honey doesn't need refrigeration and doesn't go bad so it must have some antimicrobial properties.
From Bing search:
"Honey has antimicrobial properties. It contains hydrogen peroxide, which may account for some of its antibacterial properties. Honey also has a high sugar content, which can help stop the growth of certain bacteria. Additionally, honey has a low pH level. The effective antimicrobial agent in honey prohibits the growth of certain bacteria. Honey is a useful treatment for wounds and scalds."
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups.
We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow.

The ancient Greeks used honey as a wound covering because they discovered it cut down on infections. It is a truly remarkable substance.

Just catching up here - so sorry to learn of your horrifying accident Dearborn. Thank goodness you escaped consequences that could have been much worse, and you are mending. HONEY - I highly recommend it for burns, and you don't need the fancy overpriced Manuka type - just pure honey. I have seen it work miracles on even severe burns. Honey is very soothing and antibacterial, as well as a great skin conditioner. Best of luck for a full recovery.
