Yes I was Frog. Now of course with my military training and what to do in extreme emergencies helped out greatly. Such as staying calm, I covered my mouth and noes as the fire came up my to my face to protect my airway, Getting in the cold shower immediately after the flash over to help remove the heat.
But staying calm and clear headed was the biggest part of my survival.

Well, an update one week later - the burns got a lot worse looking then the images above before they started healing. (no, I won't post the new images) I currently have no hair on my legs now LOL - I hope it will come back. But the shin now has the texture of an alligator from my ankles up to my buttocks. We'll have to wait and see how that heals as time rolls along.

Quote: John, Look into using 100% aloe vera Well living in the American Southwest, we have one great advantage. Aloe grows here like a weed and I have a HUGE bumper crop of it I have been using every day, several times a day. Quote: Soak in 100% acetone. It'll come right off yeah - right down to the bone probably I would rather try salt first and use it as a sandpaper and scrub it off.. This is right outside my front door..

Wow. This is the first time I've heard of it. Man you're lucky. I'm glad you're home. I'm setting here shacking my head. Freak accidents happen but wow you're very lucky.
About ten years ago I had that same copper pipe problem. Luckily I was at rental and my ( old) torch set was in different state, or I would've tried (firing) it up. Our son told me about some glue for copper. It worked great and that faucet is still hanging on.
Take care John.
