30 some years ago I used PCGS. I've got submissions to make soon and wondered if there were any reasons I should change to NGC. Thanks for all opinions.

If you use the search line here on CCF you'll find prior topics and comments. Type in something like PCGS versus NGC. There are other graders too like ANACS. It can depend on cost, membership. In my opinion if it's a high value coin, rare coin, I'd go with PCGS. Lesser value and I don't think it matters that much.

If you want you could post a few pics of some coins here and get better opinions on which company to go with and if the coin is worth grading.

My choice is PCGS. I believe their standards are higher, that said.
I guess it depends on the coins getting graded

Thanks, livingwater. Should have done the search first. After reading some of the threads I think I'll stick with PCGS.

I have some really nice coins that I feel are accurately graded by ANACS, but I consider them to be 2nd tier and would not submit anything to them. Coin toss (pun intended) between NCG and PCGS, almost, but I too feel that PCGS enjoys a slightly better reputation. The purpose for slabbing my nicer coins is to have them more securely graded if I hand them down to my daughter, who knows nothing of grading and could be more readily taken advantage of when I'm gone. Perhaps I'll hang around long enough to interest her in the hobby.
