Not sure if this has been addressed elsewhere in this thread, but nickel mintage so far in 2024, as reported by U.S. Mint, has been unusually low by modern standards — about 65 million at both mints.

Quote: On June 7, I mentioned that I had yet to find a 2024 coin in change... Well, as is so often the case, if you reveal something like that to the world, the universe has a way of responding. Here is what I found yesterday (June 11)... Congratulations!

Here in the Rocky Mountain region of Colorado, still no 2024 coins in change or even at our local bank.

Nice find, goldnugget. I'm surprised at the lack of 2024s around here (Los Angeles suburbs). The year is almost half over and I don't have nearly as many new coins as I had this time last year.

My son has a summer job at an ice cream shop. He wisely chose to accept all the lose change when they divide up the tips at the end of their shift. We finally sorted some of it and here we have the first 2024 coins I have seen in the wild!

Very nice, jbuck. The new coins are not showing up here like they did last year.
