I get all the weird ones I swear. I noticed the 2 fairly straight lines through a 10x loupe right away. They are not incuse, couldn't think of anything on the obverse that would come through at that level of the cent. Need a good explanation please so I can move on and leave it alone. I included the full reverse and obverse and close up of area in question...best I could Appreciate all comments, thank you.
You can tell there was a lot of polishing on this one and would say it was because of a clash. That being said, these are the two areas where Abe's head would show through and think that they are just deep gouges to go along with all the polishing.
Those 2 protrusions under the steps are a bit strange. I can't see anything on the obverse that could have cause this if it were a clash. die gouge as Makecents said make sense
