Hi,

Can anyone recommend a price guide or reference book for French and/ or Italian coins? I'm looking for something similar to Red Book. I may have a little interest in British pennies as well.

Thanks,

Mike

Hello Bosstone and

The French equivalent is the Gadoury Catalog. Their red one covers the period from 1789 and is great. It's all in French but quite easy to use. They also have books covering Euros and pre-1789 coins:

I don't know of any Italian catalog, but I'm sure they must exist.

For British pennies I'd recommend Spink, but Coin Year Book would probably have everything you need and is a lot cheaper:

I ordered Monnais Francais 2024 and then found an older version of the Standard Catalog of World Coins. I should all set.

In the meantime I was able to pick up a 1973 French mint set with the silver 10 Francs coin.
