Hi, I'm assuming this is PMD but I would like to have the experts take a look. Is this heat damage, bad planchet, grease or something else?

From the look of the textured surface, maybe exposed to acid/acidic environment and.....

Nitric acid will do this. This kind of thing was a chemistry class demonstration I would show my students.
