You'll certainly be able to find another one similar to that one! Who knows maybe even right here on CoinCommunity?

I would really be upset. That coin is beautiful. Wow what a 32-d. I have one but it is only fine. To own that coin is exceptional. Well goodluck in the future, you may just pick one up. It is hard to lose a bid at the last moment. I have had this happen to me several times on ebay.
I don't have the heart to tell ya Dearborn that was me.

Believe me, you don't want to buy a coin on ebay from Great Southern Coins.

It's a shame you got outbid, Dearborn. That is a beautiful quarter - always love seeing old Washingtons with the same level of hair detail I see on coins from the 80s!

Dearborn --- you could also have been a victim of shill bidding. It's been going on since the early days of ebay and still goes on today in spite of eBays robotic attempts to prevent it. Keep your chin up and be glad you didn't win it!

Thanks Disco fever

And to Westernsky: could be, anything is possible - I rarely lose out on a ebay auction. but it happens. (I too am a last second bidder - I don't like to drive up the price no other reason to be the highest bidder) I just sit back and watch it closely.
I'm back to searching for another very high grade 1932-D again. I have been looking for over a year now.
There are a few coins I'm looking for in high MS grades at the moment: (in no particular order)
1909-S VDB Lincoln Cent
1932-D Washington quarter
1913-S Buffalo nickel

You still have a great collection. This may have been all for the better. I would like to see mine in person, if I was going to pay that much. I have our first coin show in a long time coming up in our city. I'm saving up to see if the rarer coins I need will be there..

Thanks JK! - I wish I could see a high grade coin in hand before a purchase, but what are the chances a LCS would have one?

Simple question remains - why is an apparent "gem" like this not in a major TPG holder for very little cost? At $915 it sold for less for less than a decent slabbed MS example but for more than a nice slabbed AU coin, so given his commission, what do you think this huge ebay seller actually paid for it? My guess is a doctored photo, with field/bust marks and wear washed out.

The negative feedback figures are revealing but not surprisingly low - most buyers don't know they've been had, and those that return their purchases are generally reluctant to take on the daunting process of leaving negative feedback on ebay.

In my long experience, Great Southern Coins is a dishonest dealer that does not serve the hobby well. I say this carefully with full consideration.
