I got outbid last night at the last second. I wanted this one for my album...
It is a high grade MS quarter - full breast feathers, well struck tail feathers - no sign of any doe deterioration on it blast white but does not appear to have been cleaned (to me).
I'm so bummed. I stayed up late last night in order to win it.. oh well, I hope to find another like it...

ebay item number:355423441956

You didn't want it bad enough.

OR, It was more than you were willing to pay.

2 seconds before the end I was the highest bidder, but he got in a higher one so quick that I was trying to get in another bid, but it timed out.

So you were willing to pay more, you just didn't bid that amount.

The only way to "beat" a sniper is to bid the absolute maximum amount you are willing to pay. If you win, great, if not, the item was more than you wanted to pay.

I assure you, the winning bidder placed a bid that was more than the $10 over your last bid.

yep, I'm sure it was... Well, time to keep my eyes open for another beauty

funny though, when I placed my bid in - it was more than $100.00 so I thought I was ok.. (guess not)..

It's ok though - really didn't want to pay over a thousand for an ungraded coin anyway.. So there it is..

It was a risk with those photos anyway. The washed out areas might be hiding a lot.

I thought I did bid high enough because I did bid at the last 4 seconds.. but still got beat out by another sniper (I'm one too)
I never bid on an item during the 6 to 9 days it is active.- why drive up the price?

even if it were hiding minor things in the washed out areas, I was planning on placing it in my Dansco album not have it graded..

n my Dansco album, I already have a BU Philly and a San Fran quarter - I'm trying to complete this triple play. Then I can move on to upgrading the rest of my circulated quarters to BU or MS grades.

@dear, I feel for you. It is always a bummer to lose out on an item that you had sorta settled on. It happens to me all the time, which is similarly unfortunate. I would have a collection worthy of King Farouk if only other folks didn't keep over-bidding me in auctions!

You may have been lucky NOT to win it!

I agree with Mr Frog 100%!

GSC does not have a stellar reputation in the industry and has been called out numerous times for doctored photos and misrepresentation.

If the Seller thought for one second that the coin would grade high and straight at a TPG service they would have sent it in themselves!
