I have a question on how registry sets work. If I have PCGS graded coins and I start a registry to add them to, does the registry show you comparable coins of the same type or just the same class?

So, for example, a graded 1968 Roosevelt dime, would only be compared to other business strike dimes or would the registry compare your coin with that and proof Roosevelt dimes as well? Or are proofs only compared with proofs, and likewise with business strike coins?

I hope I'm asking this in the right place, its my first day of school in here.

I don't have a specific answer but it seems logical that they would not compare proofs with business strikes. They grade proofs differently than circulation coins. Hopefully someone with more knowledge will chime in.

Yes

Read the set listing, it CLEARLY shows what coins are included in the set.

You can also select a single coin and it will show you what set(s) that coin is part of.

Thank you for the response and your help. Much appreciated. I ask because I had a coin graded I felt was a proof and they didnt label it proof but when I went to the registry it brought up all proof graded coins.

When I called PCGS back and inquired and aksed why the coin in the registry is compared with other proof dimes and asked if they just made a mistake on the label I was told that the coin went through the correct processes and if it was a proof coin it would of been labeled as such.

FYI, the coin in question is a 1968 proof no "s" dime. It was sent in as a mint error. I have been going through my coins and believe to have found a few mistakes, its tough when you pay for verification and you don't get accurate verification.

Can you post a photo of your coin? It appears to me that you sent in a MS 1968 dime thinking it was a proof. Proof
1968 No S dimes are very rare.
