The photos aren't clear enough to see the faint D/P's or any D/C's. I think maybe VG-8 and heavily cleaned at some point and, if it's a Hax 42, then it's a rarity 7 which is very scarce.

You need to look closely at thr Reverse. Do you have a tiny D/C from the tip of leaf 6 to the denticle? Is the O in One slightly doubled? Go to the Haxby site and click on Obverse 21, which yours is. Then lokk at ALL of the 3 Reverses that were married to that Obverse (23, 23a, and 23b. The 23 is a raity 4, the 23a, a rarity 7, and the 23b, a rarity 3. A huge difference in value, evn if your is only a G-6 .... it's still a keeper.

Yes, that is the PC59-42 Obverse 21 + Reverse E23a. A scarcer die pair.

Okie and Phil, I check #6 leaf and can not see a die crack but every thing else fits for 21+E23a could it be a stage 1?

It is possible you have a state 1 reverse E23a. It could also be that the weak die crack to leaf 6 may not show because of wear to the coin. Sometimes weaker die cracks will be nearly impossible to see on a well worn coin. Sometimes I will tilt or rotate (different direction of light source) a coin under a microscope to see if that helps with seeing a faint die crack.

Thanks for the info Phil, I did rotate it and did also but some Verdi-Care on that spot as well and still could not see a die crack but the coin is wore.
