Maybe you could buy it yourself.

I like that suggestion!

Wonderful start to putting together a set of the only US type ($5 Liberty) coin to be minted at all 7 mints. Fun set to accomplish, doable and reasonably priced all things considered.

I put a couple of the 7 coin sets together over my coin "career". Feels good to get a set put together. Not so good to part with it when the time comes.

Good luck with whatever you decide!

Unfortunately, I'm not in a position to "buy" the coin myself nor do I have an heir to pass it on to.

I'm going to send it to NGC for grading and to have it slabbed before making a decision on the best route to sell.

As a new member, I can't respond to requests for private messaging. That being said, I can be found on the Internet through my business TimberFire Studio.

Thanks!

I understand completely that you have to do what is best for you and your Mom.

Good luck and I hope you get good money for your coin!

Thanks for posting pics.

I agree with AU Details - Cleaned. Possible Environmental Damage.

$2,000 retail is my guesstimate. Maybe $2,500 if it does really well.
