I am adding an additional page to my Jefferson nickel #8114 album including all the proofs prior to 1971 whereby they did not provide holes for these issues 1938-1942 and 1950-1970. I am making a label for the cover and in gold lettering to designate these additional proofs. Any suggestions on the wording of the title?

It means that it has holes for releases from a mint that are only in proof. Originally these holes were for the 1968-S and later dimes and quarters; the 1971-S and later nickels, and 1975-S and later cents.

That means there is only one hole if there were proof and business strikes made the same year from the same mint... Examples are the 1964 and earlier Philadelphia proofs that were made along with business strike; also the 1968-1974 cents and 1968-1970 nickels from San Francisco. If you wanted both, you had to add your own pages to hold them.

As far as I know, the only albums to break this rule are:

The Kennedy half dollar — It has holes for 1964 Philadelphia proof and business strike, as well as holes for the 1965-1967 "quasi-proof" SMS and business strikes.
The Statehood/DC/T and ATB Quarter albums — These have holes for the clad and silver proof, but neglect the collector only business strikes from San Francisco.
The Women Quarters — It may be an error, but this one seems to have a hole for San Francisco business strike and proof, but does not differentiate clad or silver for proof (see it here).

Yes, it generally means it has a spot for a proof coin in addition to the P and D coins. It will have a 'Proof' label with it.
