Dearborn Moderator United States 99323 Posts	Posted 04/08/2024 2:42 pm Seeing how tight it is up against the rim and the rest of the devices are weakly struck, I would say it is due to the obverse design being deeper and requiring more metal to strike up fully - thus taking the material needed by the reverse to fully form. BUT that little bit near the edge is just opposite the area on the obverse under the bust is just at normal field depth. - thus allowing more metal to strike up the tops only of the reverse devices.
