I still don't get how people "throw away" change.

I did note, however, how coins are difficult to spend. I can't remember the last time I used change in my pocket to buy something. I do, however, enjoy getting change back when I pay for stuff with bills. You never know what might turn up.

The article draws conclusions based on unspecified sources.

The company in the article gleans the coins from burned trash. At least the Zincolns melt, ridding us of those atrocities.

Hey Let's experiment, everyone send me a nickel each year starting today, and I'll tally up the results on April 19th 2025 and let you know the total. You start the ball rolling @classic_coin !

Let's go attrition! Kill the penny, nickel and dime from our lives. I probably pickup $10+/year from the ground because people don't care about change.
