I am wondering if anyone is noticing a deterioration in the quality of condition of US Mint products. A recent purchase of the Alabama American Innovation $1 Coin from the Denver mint from a bag and roll presented obverses that looked like they were intentionally scratched by US Mint employees or their equipment was very shoddy. Strangely, their reverse design of a Saturn V rocketship is to me one of the US Mint's best in the past few years. The design is slightly recessed so it avoids the poor condition of the obverse. Yes AI dollars have very wide open fields on their obverse making them prone to scratches and bag marks but the Alabama coins from the Denver mint are very scratched up --- I mean to the point some look damaged!

Then I received a 2023 silver proof set and was surprised that the Jefferson nickel already was developing a little haze with a bluish tint.

Finally because the US Mint once again messed up the packaging (as they did with the 2023 proof sets) my clad 2024 clad proof set has been on back order since early March! All the customer service agents tell me is that they apologize for the delay but the US Mint is working to correct errors on the COAs that were found in the first groups of proof sets sent to customers.

I will also say the Harriet Tubman designs are mediocre and the Greatest Generation commems while better seem to be a but derivative. The Brittania/Liberty coin is bland despite the play on perspective.

The only products the Mint seems to do well from my buying experience are the Uncirculated Sets and Rev Proofs ones.

Would love to hear from others their experience lately has been with US Mint products - the quality of their condition they come to you and your opinion about recent designs.

Yes, I have even from Clad proof sets - had one quarter in the set looked like garbage - had to replace it, got another garbage one as a replacement (I didn't look for the garbage that was what was sent)
So I bought another complete Quarter set just for one inferior quarter. (haven't looked at it yet - it just arrived today..)

Sorry to hear you are experiencing a similar problem. I commented about this issue in response to a Coin World article that reports US Mint 2024 coins are beginning to reach consumer outlets from April 15th.
