Still not finding anything of significance but not a waste of time. Spent 3 hours at our new athletic facility today. Bug spray kept the gnats at bay anyhow.
Finds: 1. Sheffield utility knife, rusted blade still in place. Knife handle is broken so I won't spend time to restore it. 2. 12 gauge shell 3. Magnetic catch of some kind 4. Odd piece of metal. Non-magnetic, not lead, maybe aluminum 5. 2019P dime and 2017P LMC 6. 6" length of wire 7. Usual aluminum cans, foil, etc. (More trash than treasure)
I'm glad I at least found some coins (both were on the surface).
Not every hunt yields treasure but it's always fun to get out.
My three hour hunt this week at a new park and wooded area yielded a 1930s "Merry Widow" condom container and a 2000-D Sacagawea dollar. That was my only coin. Not much, but I got out.
