Awesome find. I got one of those too only I have a problem: that black discoloration on a side. I'm not sure if it's just some grease. I really don't like to clean coins because one can never know what substance is that and if it decides to react with even mild dish soap. I do not want to use acetone, not yet anyway, maybe someone here can suggest something else?

Acetone is what I would try.

@john1 I'm a little reluctant to use acetone as a main option, I once had a penny that turned pink in about 20 seconds of dipping coin. I was hoping for more suggestions :)

Was it 100% pure from the hardware store or standard nail polish remover?

Thank you Svant and Jim! Svant, have you tried Verdi-Care? That might help.

1. It was 100% acetone. 2 no, I haven't even heard of Verdi care. Thank you for the advice, I will go check that out right away. Just curious, do you think it might help to erase or at least minimize those nasty fingerprints that unfortunately often found on copper plated coins? I have few that would easily be 65+ but ruined by fingerprints.

Those fingerprints are forever unless you want to damage the coin.
