There are small marks on the shoulder of the caribou, and on the obverse there are diagonal marks on the queen. I would appreciate it if someone could post an overlay for this type. Accompanied by slightly low pressure in striking . Extremely common in RCM PL silver coinage ( especially Dollar pieces) of the 1950s, 1960s. Report this Post to the Staff

Levaril Valued Member Canada 289 Posts	Posted 05/08/2024 1:17 pm I call it planchet rash or PL rash and it's completely normal. Doesn't affect the grade, although it can certainly affect the desirability of a particular coin a little. Super hard to tell the grade just from a couple pictures but they look like they could be PL67 or so if there are no hidden hairlines somewhere. Totally a guess though! Report this Post to the Staff

I come from a time before ICCS when you bought by VG-F-etc. Before US companies got in on the craze, almost nothing ever got above MS/PL65, so in my mind, proof-like were 65 or less.
