I recently acquired this 1871 Half Dollar as part of a lot. Not sure whether it is cleaned. Any thoughts regarding grade?

to the Community!

This coin would grade "VF details - cleaned" at most grading services.

Severely damaged with porosity and harsh cleaning. VF details and near zero numismatic value. Less than $20 in retail value.

yes your coin is cleaned. when you have a circulated coin in lower grades that has the look of dull steel on both sides without any imbedded grime, dirt or discoloration around any of the devices, it was cleaned. I would not call it harshly cleaned though
