Thx. Here is a Denier from the French City of Meaux that dates to the mid-12th Century:

Really great assortment! I have another abbey denier, this time St. Martial in Limoges (France), I think Duplessy 883, and I see dates ascribed 1106-1150 by some auction houses, just 12th c. by others. Obviously the abbey was wealthy enough to hire a good engraver.

Sweet one @tdz! Staying in France is this late-12th or early 13th Denier from Rodez:

Maybe it is just the holiday in the US, but it seems like we are losing a bit of steam on this thread. As long as folks are ok with it, I'm going to just keep posting here though as I've still got a few more centuries to get through. Here is a late 12th Century Denier from the French Abbey at Deols. Pretty sure I haven't posted it here before. Interesting to me is the six pointed star as I don't feel like that symbol is on very many French coins.

Very nice denier, Spence! The hexagram is very unusual on French coins, I think. Interesting to see it on this one.
Do keep posting your deniers! The rest of us may be running out of coins to post here (I sure have), but it will be great to see what more you have!
