Here is a Denaro from the Italian Commune of Brescia. It was issued over a pretty long time period: 1186 through 1254 AD.

Here is a new pick-up for me, but it fits well with the theme of this thread so I'm posting it here rather than creating a new thread. Here is a Penning from Denmark that dates to between 1202 and 1241 AD. It was issued by Valdemar II and features a helmeted head with annulet on the right on one side and two crosses with a central hooked element in between. Many examples of this type come from the Grenaa Hoard, but I'm not sure if mine does. I do however have provenance back to Jim Farr's collection, which is pretty cool. It is attributed as Galster #31 and Somod Supplement #33.

Quote: Here is a Denaro from the Italian Commune of Brescia. Just like your "French feudals" I admire the collection of early Italians you've put together. Speaking of France, here is a denier from the Duchy of Lorraine, Duke Matthieu II. struck at Sierck 1248-1251

Yikes, we are approaching 24 hours without a new coin!! Here is a coin that I fished out of a foreign coin bin at the Gimbel's coin and stamp "department" in Paramus, NJ over 50 years ago (my mom & dad used to take us all there for Christmas shopping in the late 1960s and would deposit my brother and I at the stamp & coin counter while they shopped). Not knowing any better, put it in a 2 x 2 and labeled it France, but 50 years later I got it properly attributed as a Crusader States denier from the Duchy of Athens, Guy II de la Roche (1294-1308). Obverse: GVI DVX ATENES Reverse: ThEBANI CIVIS It doesn't fit in my collection any more, but I am too sentimental to get rid of it (my first medieval)
