Quote: I think that I posted a Slavonian Denar a ways upthread. This later one (datable to 1322-1325 AD) has better remaining detail--that weasel/stoat really pops on this coin! Excellent!

Here is a early- to mid-14th Century Denar from the German County of Brehna. The degraded rev legend (something like OTOROTONh or perhaps OAOROAORN) may be in reference to the coin having been minted at Osnasbrück.

very nice addition Spence. On the obverse, would that be a very big arrow for that tiny bow?

Yep, a proportionately-sized bow plus a gimunous arrow. Not sure why. Moving on, here is a 14th Hungarian Denar:

This morning, I have a second Hungarian Denar to post. This one is datable to 1329 AD (two years later than the one just previously posted):

We don't se Serbian Dinars too often on CCF. Here is one from the mid-14th Century issued by King Stefan IV Dusan. Also known as "Dusan the Mighty", wikipedia states that: Quote: Under his rule, Serbia reached its territorial, political, economic, and cultural peak. I'm not up on my Serbian history, but I do believe that his die cutters were more skilled than those across broad swaths of Europe at this time.
