Quality vinyl LP's on a quality turntable, through a quality stereo =
Gold Proof Coin. The best of the best, but requires careful handling and proper storage.

Well-mastered CD on average equipment = Circulated VF Silver coin. Fine quality, but less delicate and better suited to the 'average Joe'.

MP3 = Copper Cent. Common and cheap, but fun to hoard.

Just the thought of the sound that someone removing the needle from a record,while listening to a great song turned up loud, and dragging it across the record, Ouch.....I have not heard that for a very long time, but I do also have some sweet albums and 45's,some more old habits....
