I found this coin in a large foreigh coin lot and while I don't know much about ancient coins it appeared genuine. I listed it on ebay and someone quickly told me it is a copy but then offered to buy it anyway which is rather suspicious. I cancelled the listing but wanted to see what the experts on here think.

Thanks

Looks like a modern cast. Can you show a picture of the edge?

Well I am sorry sir you are having these issues with the coin. I have been on ebay a lot over the years and this particular fake style seems to be ubiquitous from a certain country actually. You see the edge and the line sadly, but it is interesting that of all the fake coin types this one shows up so much from there. If you want to try an ebay search, type in "lot of ancient unresearched ancient coins". That is often how they are listed and you will recognize the style even if they don't photograph edges. I am sorry sir, hate to see people have problems.
