Here is an odd looking nickel which appears to have some heavily polished areas, maybe to clean up a die clash. They are most obvious on the obverse where the sleeves cross the image.

Looks like some kind of Struck Through error.

If you are talking about the sleeves that are crossing the coin - that would be the reverse side of the coin.

But it does appear to be a strike through.

I'm looking at the overlays shown on Maddieclahes and the shiny shadows really are not exactly in the right place to have been a clash repair. Thanks for all the replies. Strike through seems to be the consensus.
