These medals are apparently shipping in the bubble style flimsy envelopes. I'm guessing more than just a few of the medal boxes will be damaged in transit. Good luck to those who ordered.

No privy for me either... but that just means I can enjoy this beautiful medal instead of stressing about how much I can get for it.

Quote: Anyone else think its odd the Medal , # 214 , Already Slabbed, In Hand, Before Most Received The Mint's Orders, ? YES..I smell a RAT! Got mine yesterday as well, with no Privy. Including this one, my last 3 Mint shipments have come in the bubble wrap envelopes. I have to think there is a lot of damaged boxes being sent back. Did the Mint run out of boxes?

Here's an example of what can happen with the flimsy bubble mailers (to a flowing hair clamshell box) -- posted at CU forum: I don't think the Mint ran out of boxes; I think somebody in the accounting department determined the cost savings for the flimsy mailers vs. the cardboard boxes was worth the risk of increased damaged complaints & returns. My flowing hair medal is due tomorrow. . .after that, the two coin reverse proof set in November. . .crossing my fingers both make the trip from the fulfillment center undamaged.

NO privy here either. I do like the coin, errr, medal, more than I thought I would. I wonder why they couldn't do the edge lettering? I'm confused on that. I guess because it's a medal. But I thought the "coin" thing just meant no reeded edge. The OGP is nice. Really nice. This was my first with the shipping bag. Mine arrived fine, but man I'd be mad if it was damaged. I was thinking my shipment was somehow different (thinking I won the lottery!) when it wasn't boxed. WaaaaWaaaaah. Normal. They'll have to rethink the bags, I understand it saves money. Just charge a little more for shipping, even 25¢ should cover a box. Maybe a smaller or somewhat cheaper box is better than a bubble mailer.
