75,000 mintage for a 1 oz. silver medal Its too high, half of that would have sold out within the hour, but I took my chance like other hoping to get at least a privy mint coin. Good luck to those buying into it.

I'd be a buyer at $55. Assuming silver stays put, I should be able to get this medal at my price in 3 years

I ordered one a couple hours after the launch. Wasn't planning to get one but changed my mind. We'll see what I get.

I ordered one.

The last few times years ago I purchased a "limited" mintage issue from the mint the website would crash at the moment the sale went live.

I was ready to keep refreshing at 10:59 CST but around 10:47 CST the page went to the waiting room that other had mentioned in other previous posts.

Last night I "pregamed" it by making sure my login still worked, my credit card was current, my billing address was current, my different shipping address was current and guess what: when I went to check out it was the same old mess with addresses and credit card info as years past.

And now that others are reporting PCGS already has coins in hand and already graded even before the sale and ebay sellers selling them for $20 above issue price with free shipping (which after 15% ebay fees which would be $18.50 and at least $8 postage) makes you wonder what is really going on with the Mint.

How many have already been minted?

How many Privy mark have already been minted?

If it is pro rated as to how many privy mark are released in relation to total mintage if the issue doesn't sell out then there will be less than 1794 out there in the market.

If all of the Privy mark have been minted and already mixed in will with the first batch of say 30,000 first striking (not to be confused with PCGS fake label marketing first strike) to meet initial sales demand and quick shipping and in the event of a sellout the second striking as seen in previous issues may not have a single privy mark.

So my conspiracy theory is:

Only 30K sell and all of the 1794 Privy mark coins are out in the market and are now not as rare (percentage wise) since there are not 73,000 non marked ones out there.

The limit 1 per household is obviously a scam since the big dealers already have the coins in hand before the sale and have already submitted them for grading. So how many of the 75K mintage limit were "actually" available to the public if the big dealers already have a bunch ahead of time? 50K? And as mentioned before they obviously got a price break otherwise they would be losing money selling on ebay.

If I get a Privy mark one it is getting sold.

If not it is going in my pocket to replace my Ellis Island pocket piece.

@jackjeckel: ebay fees are much, much lower for sellers with stores. But your point is well taken.

One of the 230 signed COAs raw in OGP would be well north of $5k.

One of the 1794 Privy marked pieces should bring $2k easily.

I ordered one when they were released. I think I was all done before 1105am central.
I might like where this program leads, but not a huge fan of that particular design. But thought it the series is good in coming years, I might as well jump in feet first.
The price is too high, so I sort of figure the extra money is like buying an expensive lottery ticket (given the chance of a privy mark medal).
