Sorry but I found this interesting. This box of cents has been very boring so far. Other than an unusual amount of wheats there hasn't been much of anything of interest - even only had like 5 coins with die cracks so far.

I see that you are bored. Still, this coin is cool looking.

Post-strike damage from long ago. Might want to keep it as a fun curiosity. What does the reverse look like?

Interesting case of PMD. Have you check the memorial cents for column bar DDR's?

Here is the reverse as requested. Initially, I thought the marks by the E in one were just gouges but it appears something may have been pressed into the coin there.

@ EV: Yes I check the memorial. Usually just find minor clashes there though. I do have one I set aside that has 3 cracks (1st from rim to D in united, 2nd from D in united toward the E, and 3rd from the E to the I in E Pluribus) and they are fairly thin. If more pronounced, I probably would have posted it.

Without proof, these are generally thought to be from a coin getting stuck in one of the old bubble gum machines. It gets stuck and folks crank on it a couple times trying to get it to go through and it ends up like this.

I always hated a jammed Gumball Machine when I was a kid. It happened quite often.
