German 5 PFenning Mint Marks - Coin Community Forum

Sap Moderator Australia 16857 Posts	Posted 05/06/2009 04:00 am The 1875 might be a "B"; that was the mark of the Hannover mint, shut down in 1878. But the 1910 can't be a "B". The mintmarks on 5pf coins are pretty small; get a magnifier and check again. D or E are the most likely options for you. Berlin A Hannover B 1878 Frankfurt C 1879 Munchen D Dresden E 187 Muldenhutten F 1953 Karlsruhe G Darmstadt H 1882 Hanburg J They all operated in 1872 and this is why they have these letters. And got them confused. The 1875 is a B, the 1910 is an A. I do appreciate the help. I have learned my German mints and dates now. Thank you. Report this Post to the Staff
