I have a 1875 and a 1910 5 pfenning. I can not find a mint mark on these. Where is it? Thank you.

On the obverse, on both sides of the eagle's tail (the mintmark appears twice).

Thank you. But the 1910 does not make sense. it shows B. That is Venice. That is only between 38-44. How did a 1910 get B mint mark

In 1910 5 Pfennig German Empire coins were minted in A-Berlin, D-Munich, E-Muldenhutten, F-Stuttgart, G-Karlsruhe, and J-Hamburg. Are you sure it's not a D?

The 1875 might be a "B"; that was the mark of the Hannover mint, shut down in 1878. But the 1910 can't be a "B".

The mintmarks on 5pf coins are pretty small; get a magnifier and check again. D or E are the most likely options for you.

Oh and B was for Vienna in WW2.

Berlin A
Hannover B 1878
Frankfurt C 1879
Munchen D
Dresden E 187
Muldenhutten F 1953
Karlsruhe G
Darmstadt H 1882
Hanburg J

They all operated in 1872 and this is why they have these letters. Some closed down and I have put the dates there.

Sorry guys for causing such confusion. It is a A mint mark. I had been working with both coins simultaneously. And got them confused. The 1875 is a B, the 1910 is an A. I do appreciate the help. I have learned my German mints and dates now. Thank you.
